How one child in a tribal school in Jharkhand helped us plant the seed of Niiv Learning Labs?

Niiv was just a nascent idea till a hot and humid day in September 2019, when we embarked on a visit to a government school in Jharkhand. Unsure of what to expect, we met with the teachers in the staff room and corridors as kids were huddled into the classroom. We could not let go of a golden chance to interact with the students and conducted a small learning session for them.

While we were sharing pleasantries with the school leader before leaving, a 4th grader girl came and hugged our Facilitator and started crying as she said,

” Why don’t you teach us more often?”.

This one question transformed Niiv from a vague thought to a mission we all believed in.

We were back to the drawing board with a mission to help improve last-mile delivery of education through access to resources and training; and impart 21st Century skills to students, educators, and working professionals (we added them later on, sensing the need for it).
